This Christmas treat yourself to a Merry Merry comedy drink up. The guys from Har-De-Har are back at The Actress for their final show of the year and we’re over the moon to have them home!
This show expect the same consistent top quality local comics with a show stopping headliner & special guest host! (Of course with a Christmas twist!).
“Fantastic new night, with great line-up of new comedy talent, really well chosen acts some of whom are definitely going to be big. The nights are topped off by an established headliner, all glued seamlessly together by the MC!”
On 20th December, gracing our fine stage will be the ”Sassy but Classy” Kacie Merryweather, light hearted degenerate Luke McDonnell, dry, smart & awesomely devilish David Luck, Magician/Comic Damon Conlan, Your very funny guy next door Shaun Knowles, breaking talent nominee Alex Black, often referred to as ”a bloody disgrace towards his people” it’s Gurps Cheema! The hilarious Mo Haroon and the gorgeously gleeful Jack Shipway!
As well as this fine funny bunch headlining Har-De-Har Christmas Special will headlined by Steve Day, Steve describes himself as Britains only deaf comedian, if there are any others he hasn’t heard. Actually there are a couple of others who have started since he wrote that joke, but it’s only a joke after all.
Steve has been described as ‘warm and witty’ by the Scotsman and has received many other rave reviews whilst performing shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Chortle.co.uk gave him five stars for a show once, The Sunday Times called him ‘Funny and Moving’. Steve’s shows have toured the UK , been performed in several countries in Europe and translated into Italian. No-one knows why.
A familiar voice on Radio 4, Steve has appeared many times on You and Yours, was a token man on Woman’s Hour, has appeared in two radio dramas, All Fingers and Thumbs with Bill Nighy, whom he punched dramatically, and Sound Barriers with Patricia Routledge and Caroline Quentin, both of whom he was prevented from punching.
Hosting the event will be local legend Matt Stocks former Kerrang presenter/DJ, Podcaster to the stars, Presenter and Comic. Matt really brings an extra bit of spark & glue to the show like no other! an almost 8 year loyalty to being an Actress & Bishop patron it is with open arms we welcome him back to our stage once again!
“What a good gig for comedy. The venues are great and the acts highlight the best of both the established and up and coming talent in the West Midlands. A fun night with a great atmosphere and more importantly lots of laughs
Check out the dates and come down, have a laugh and a beer and enjoy your Thursday evenings.”
