The Future Sound Project returns to Actress and Bishop to bring a line up highlighting some of the best new acts across the Midlands.

Stress Release – The band was formed around December 2017 after finally finding all members. Most of us have been friends for years, however, through the last year at college we finally came together to create the sound we have always looked for, but never found before in the past with other projects. We’re a great group of mates that come from different musical backgrounds with prefered tastes in music. Our sound is a bit of a mash up of plenty different genres, and we’ve never really been able to put a name on it ,but we mainly play indie rock music with a reggae influence.

Ape – After the release of Ape’s Debut EP Complex Creatures, the indie band are currently gigging throughout the UK, while working on material for the bands second upcoming EP. If you love a feel good indie anthem, then Ape are the band for you.

Felíx Shepherd – Felix is a British Singer-Songwriter merging Alt-Pop and RnB melodies, yet to be heard. After his previous run in the indie pop world, Felix’s new sound is being compared to the likes of Bazzi, Billie Eilish and Frank Ocean. The combination of groove and melody compliment the mix of R’n’B and electronic textures. 2019 see’s him seduce a wider audience with his new sound, after gaining the support from the likes of BBC Music Introducing with his debut.

He plays regularly in music venues around Nottingham, including Rock City after being a finalist in Nusic’s Future Sound of Nottingham 2018. He released an EP called ‘See the Sun’ with local label Phlexx Records in the summer of the same year and has been featured 12 times on BBC Introducing in the East Midlands, with Dean Jackson dubbing him ‘one of the most prolific artists round here’.
